How to install eSIM on Android

Method 1: Install Using QR Code

Step 1: Install eSIM

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap Network & Internet.

  3. Tap ( + ) next to the SIMs section.

    • If you do not see this option, tap SIMs or Mobile Network.

  4. Tap Download a SIM instead? then tap Next.

  5. Tap Use a different network (if required to confirm your network).

  6. Scan the QR code.

  7. Tap Download or Activate.

  8. When you see Download Finished, tap Settings or Done.


Step 2: Enable Data, Calls, and Text

  1. Go to SIMs in your device settings.

  2. Select the newly downloaded eSIM.

  3. Turn on Use SIM, then tap Yes.

  4. Turn on Mobile Data.

  5. Tap Call Preferences and SMS Preferences, then select your new eSIM plan as the default line.

  6. Turn on Roaming, then tap OK.

  7. Turn on Automatically select network.

    • If the device connects to the wrong network, manually select a supported network.


Step 3: Configure APN (Optional)

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap Network & Internet.

  3. Tap Mobile Network.

  4. Tap Access Point Names (APN).

  5. Create a new APN using the following information and save it.

  6. Ensure the new APN is selected.

APN Settings

  • Name: Any name


Method 2: Manual Installation

Step 1: Install eSIM

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap Network & Internet.

  3. Tap ( + ) next to the SIMs section.

    • If unavailable, tap SIMs or Mobile Network.

  4. Tap Download a SIM instead? then tap Next.

  5. Tap Use a different network if confirmation is required.

  6. Tap Need help? then select Enter it manually.

  7. Enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code.

  8. Tap Continue, then tap Download or Activate.

  9. When Download Finished appears, tap Settings or Done.


Step 2: Enable Data, Calls, and Text

  1. Go to SIMs in your device settings.

  2. Select the recently downloaded eSIM.

  3. Turn on Use SIM, then tap Yes.

  4. Turn on Mobile Data.

  5. Tap Call Preferences and SMS Preferences, then select your new eSIM plan as the default line.

  6. Turn on Roaming, then tap OK.

  7. Turn on Automatically select network.

    • If the device connects to the wrong network, manually choose a supported network.


Step 3: Configure APN (Optional)

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap Network & Internet.

  3. Tap Mobile Network.

  4. Tap Access Point Names (APN).

  5. Create a new APN and save it.

  6. Make sure the new APN is selected.

APN Settings

  • Name: Any name
